Artist Statement

Monica Shelton is a self-taught artist who practiced in Ontario for decades before moving to BC with her artist husband in 1987. In the sanctuary of her studio, Shelton interprets what she values, feels and sees. The concepts and symbols used in her work are playful and enigmatic, offering the viewer an ongoing freedom, happiness and surprise.
